About Adam

​Adam is a Careers Consultant at Shirley Parsons and joined in 2023 after successfully applying for Shirley Parsons Graduate Internship scheme.

After completing a degree in Philosophy and Politics at the University of Essex, Adam worked in Education as a Childcare Assistant at a nursery, and then the school he previously attended.

Adam started of his working career as a Swimming Instructor when he was just 16. He was a competitive swimmer in his youth before turning his focus to his studies and decided to run his own swimming lessons in his spare time.

Wanting to give something back to his local community, Adam is also a Town Councillor in Berkhamsted.

“I apply my background in education and humanities to my everyday life and I’m extremely motivated by an ever evolving and important industry.”

When he’s not working or doing his town council duties, Adam enjoys spending time with his friends, hiking and being surrounded by nature.

A leading general contractor is looking to hire a HSE Director to join its team near Galveston, TX. You will be responsible for leading the HSE program and teams across a variety of federal infrastructure projects nationwide. This represents a fantastic opportunity to join an ambitious company, where you will be given the platform to flourish in the role! The Role: Take ownership over the development and implementation of new strategies and initiatives to continually improve the HSE program & cultureCollect, analyze and report on safety metrics and KPIs at both a project and corporate level, identifying trends and utilizing results to manage, modify and deliver safety priorities across the businessPerform internal/external audits, JHA's and trainings as required Act as the figurehead for the safety program, working with all levels of staff, from site-based personnel (SSHO's) through executive leadership and senior client contacts Work alongside industry regulatory bodies (OSHA) to ensure compliance to any and all relevant local, state or federal legislation The Candidate:  Proven leader with around 8-10 years experience managing safety on large-scale heavy-civil construction projects. Previous experience working on federal projects e.g. USACE, NAVFAC (required)EM-385 certification (Required)Bachelor's Degree in Safety or related discipline (preferred)CHST or CSP (preferred) Effective communicator across all business levelsOffice base in Galveston, TX and able to travel to all active federal projects nationwide (circa. 50%)
