Introduction:

Our client is one of the leading chemical manufactories in the world, which specializes in providing advanced chemical materials to a wide range of industries across various nations.

This position will monitor and assess safety programs of construction contractors, focusing on safety, occupational health, fire protection, environmental, and ergonomic compliance. The candidate will be located at the construction site. 

 

The HSES Manager will be responsible for:

- Serves as the dedicated Site HSES resource for the client

- Guarantees adherence to relevant national regulations and HSES including conducting audits and generating reports 

- Supervises and examines safety, occupational health, fire protection, and environmental programs of all construction contractors through monitoring and audits

- Examines HSES Plans of EPC contractors, encompassing site evacuation, emergency response, and environmental management strategies. This evaluation aims to ensure alignment with both regulatory mandates and the client's expectations

- Conducts daily HSES inspections of the total site and temporary facilities, weekly HSES audits of construction equipment, and monthly HSES audits of EPC Contractors

- Engages actively in all incident investigations and takes a leading role in steering the process

- Interfaces with contractor HSES personnel to assess and examine trends which may require mitigation techniques and plans

- Evaluates HSES performance based on leading and lagging indicators, and provides weekly report to the supervisor

- Offers on-the-site HSES coaching and recognition

- Creates efficient communication strategies for HSES to enhance the visibility of HSES priorities and performance

- Assists the Operations HSES Team during the commissioning phase of the project

- Guarantees the safety and security across all project facets, including operations

 

The HSES Manager will have:

- At least 10 years of experience in HSES management of major equivalent construction projects, including developing, implementing, auditing and reviewing safety during execution phase and operations phases of a project

- Bachelor’s degree as a minimum (major in Occupational Health & Safety / Project Construction & Operation)

- Fluent in spoken and written English 

- At least 5 years of experience in Construction Safety supervision in chemical, petrochemical, mechanical or process design sectors is a plus
