About Nick

​Nick is a highly experienced company Director and Manager with over 30 years experience in leadership roles related to HSE&Q. He is passionate about improving people, processes and therefore ultimately business performance all to make a real and tangible difference. He has built effective high-performing teams to deliver service excellence and exceptional quality to solve complex business issues.

Initially he worked for many years in Consultancy delivering change transformation improvement projects related to his academic background in Human Factors and Ergonomics. As a consultant Nick has worked with a large range of different blue-chip clients across many different industries, from Finance (New York Stock Exchange), to Manufacturing (Cummins Engine Company) through to Heavy Industry (British Steel) . Latterly, he joined and worked with General Electric finishing as European Head of Environmental, Health & Safety for Gas Power in their Projects (power station construction) and Services business.

Nick has joined Shirley Parsons as Director of Project Services to drive, develop and grow the professional service offerings of the Project Service business to both our UK as well as our international client base.

An ISEB certified and accredited business analyst, Nick also has IEMA and NEBOSH (both with Distinction) and an MSc in Human Factors & Ergonomics from University College London (UCL).

A leading specialty heavy-civil consulting firm is looking for a CSP-certified Construction Safety Manager to join its team in the Boston, MA area.  This person will be responsible for leading the corporate safety vision: through the development of strategy, identification of key metrics and mentorship of employees - ultimately cultivating an industry leading safety culture. This represents a fantastic opportunity, where you will be given the platform to flourish in the role! The Role: Take ownership over the development and implementation of new strategies and initiatives to continually improve the safety program & cultureCollect, analyze and report on safety metrics and KPIs at both a project and corporate level, identifying trends and utilizing results to manage, modify and deliver safety priorities across the businessAct as the figurehead for the safety program, working with all levels of staff, from site-based personnel through executive leadership and senior client contacts Work alongside industry regulatory bodies (OSHA) to ensure compliance to any and all relevant local, state or federal legislation The Candidate:  Proven leader with experience managing safety on large-scale heavy-civil construction projects (circa. 7+ yrs)Bachelor's DegreeCSPEffective communicator across all levels - with the capacity to communicate all corporate safety matters to internal and external stakeholders alikeAble to travel to all operational projects across the Boston area and other project locations (circa. 50%)

Principal Consultant - Climate & CarbonLondon Permanent £40,000 + £50,000  We are currently working with a leading Environmental Consultancy who have an opportunity for a Senior Consultant or Principal Consultant (grade subject to experience) to further strengthen the climate change capacity and expertise within the team.The Principal Consultant will be responsible for: Work with the Team's Director to provide project delivery of climate change assessments at a major project levelProvide technical expertise in one or more of the following fields: climate change mitigation analysis, whole life carbon assessment, circular economy, low carbon technologies and energy efficiency, climate change vulnerability and adaptation, greenhouse gas emissions inventories/analysis/modelling, carbon models/tools,Produce technical report for clients, including writing, checking and review of deliverables. The Principal Consultant will have: A passion for the environment and delivering proven sustainability outcomes.Educated to degree level in a relevant field with further degree or professional qualification advantageous.Specialism in one or more key climate change fields, and/or experience in consultancy for EIA or ESG.Experience of managing and taking responsibility for delivering successful projects of different sizes.
