What is BS 99001?
BS 99001 is a British Standard focused on quality management systems specifically for the built environment sector. It is a sector-specific standard that adapts the principles of ISO 9001, the international standard for quality management systems, to the unique needs and challenges of the construction and built environment industries.
Why is it important?
As a standard, BS 99001 provides a specialised quality management framework tailored for the construction and built environment sector. It addresses industry-specific challenges, improves quality and consistency, enhances risk management, and ensures compliance with regulations.
Achieving BS 99001 certification enhances an organisation’s reputation, provides a competitive advantage and fosters continuous improvement, ultimately leading to better project outcomes and greater success in the industry.
