Description
A leading international manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior EHS Director to provide leadership to its EHS strategy, and assist the company in achieving world-class EHS performance.
Working closely with the Global VP of EHS & Sustainability, the Senior EHS Director will drive EHS excellence across the global organization. This role will directly manage a team of senior-level EHS professionals.
***Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to the Cleveland, Minneapolis or Chicago area - no remote base***
The role:
- Develop, strategize and implement a long-term plan for the global EHS function
- Influence senior business leaders worldwide to drive and maintain world-class EHS performance, providing leadership and guidance at all levels of the organization globally
- Promote continuous improvement efforts in the EHS function, integrating tactical and strategic EHS planning
- Manage across the full breadth of the global EHS function, including EHS audit functions; EHS acquisition due diligence and integration processes; process safety; fire protection; remediation programs; occupational health and industrial hygiene; environmental compliance and regulatory reporting; sustainability and ESG projects, etc.
The candidate:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety Sciences, or related technical field is required
- CSP, CIH, CHMM certifications preferred
- Master's degree in a relevant field of study preferred
- 10-15+ years of progressive EHS experience within the manufacturing industry, with strategic EHS leadership experience at large, matrixed organizations
- Demonstrated experience of successful EHS program management across multiple sites on a global scale
- Experience leading teams of senior EHS professionals in a global, matrixed company
- Ability to travel up to 20%, including internationally
