Job Purpose
Planning, coordinating, monitoring, managing and/or reporting on the implementation of HSSE programs and permit application processes in an autonomous way. This position acts as a business partner to board and senior management and lead/develop the HSSE department, in line with in- and external regulations and in line with requirements of shareholders, in order to ensure compliance from a HSSE perspective, to prevent injuries or health impairment and to prevent and resolve safety and environmental problems.


Responsibilities
•HSSE: Monitor and review performance against leading and lagging HSSE KPIs, and patterns of behavior within the area of responsibility; Take action improve performance and to resolve non-compliance with the Group’s and Terminal’s HSSE policies, procedures and mandatory instructions.
•Policy development and implementation: procedures and interprets and applies policy for HSSE to achieve specified outputs, or advise the wider business on application of policy, then monitor implementation of those procedures within the Terminals.
•Compliance: in close collaboration with the terminal manager or MD take a leading or supporting role in acquiring the necessary permits and licenses, maintain relations with related regulatory offices and coordinate and facilitate (external) audits that cover identified risk areas and ensure that appropriate corrective actions are agreed on, in order to safeguard sustainable Terminal operations continuity.
•Incident management and follow-up: in case of severe HSSE related incidents and crisis and non-compliance issues, intervene in the situation and as necessary support and/or provide compelling advice the Terminal Managing Director, in order to put a quick and decisive incident and crisis resolution in place for the Terminal. Use Root Cause Analysis (RCA) systematically to prevent and solve the underlying issues in order to create a save working environment.
•Insights and reporting: Prepare and coordinate the completion of various HSSE data and analytics reports and report and present where applicable to the Board and management of the company, regulatory stakeholders on HSSE, auditors and the company’s shareholders.
•Leadership and direction: Communicate the local action plan; explain how this relates to the HSSE strategy and action plan and the broader Group’s mission and vision; motivate people to achieve local business goals. Creating and driving of the company’s HSSE Community to allow support, collaboration and synergies between the different terminals.

Experience and education
• Substantial general work experience together with comprehensive job-related experience in HSSE to fully
competent level and in related business context (e.g. oil & gas, port related business) (Over 8 years to 10 years).
• Knowledge of administrative and environmental law is a pre.
• Business fluent English written/speaking skills are required. Willingness to travel occasionally.
• University (First degree).
