Ben has been working with Shirley Parsons since 2018 and specialises in Quality in Renewables, particularly Offshore Wind.

After spending 14 years in the UK Armed Forces as a Royal Engineer, Ben became a self-employed Quality Consultant for a variety of OEM’s and developers in Europe and Asia for Offshore Wind Projects.

Ben’s priorities centre around understanding his clients needs, building strong relationships, candidate development and using his industry expertise to build localisation teams in new offshore wind markets.

When he’s not at work, Ben is a self-confessed hopeless bike racer and gym goer, but mainly enjoys spending time with his family, exploring New Zealand.

Job Title: Health & Safety Manager (Interim or Permanent) Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands Company Overview: Join a leading car manufacturer's warehouse facility in Amsterdam, Netherlands, dedicated to delivering quality parts to customers worldwide. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, they are seeking a skilled Health & Safety Manager to ensure the highest standards of safety and well-being for their team members. Position Overview: As the Health & Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and implementing health and safety protocols within the warehouse facility. Your primary objective will be to create and maintain a safe work environment, minimizing occupational hazards and promoting a culture of safety awareness among employees. This is a full-time interim position, with a duration extending until November 2024. Otherwise, they are open to considering permanent applicants as well. Key Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with local regulations and company standards. Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. Lead and coordinate safety training programs for all employees, including new hires and ongoing refresher courses. Collaborate with department managers to ensure that safety protocols are integrated into daily operations and workflows. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence. Qualifications: HVK is preferred or BSc/MSc in Safety Studies Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager or similar role, preferably within a manufacturing or warehouse environment. In-depth knowledge of Dutch health and safety regulations, with a strong understanding of EU directives and standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence employees at all levels of the organization. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to risk management. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent designation is preferred.
