SHEQ professionals from across the waste management sector joined Mike Roebuck from Shirley Parsons for a site tour at EMR’s EV Battery, Shredder and R&D facility in Birmingham.
Organised by Mike Roebuck, Senior Careers Consultant at Shirley Parsons and a specialist in the waste management sector, the visit brought professionals together to learn more about circular economy processes, share knowledge and make new connections.
A closer look at EV battery recycling.
EMR’s Birmingham facility offers a view of how the sector is responding to the growth of electric vehicles. According to EMR, its battery centre can assess batteries for reuse or repair or prepare them for recycling so that valuable materials can be recovered.
The site tour gave attendees an opportunity to learn more about EMR’s work and discuss the opportunities and challenges facing SHEQ professionals in waste management.
Bringing the sector together.
Mike has organised several site tours, giving professionals the chance to visit different facilities and connect with others working across the sector. These visits create space to learn from operational sites and exchange experiences.
