A large, highly regulated research institution sought the assistance of Shirley Parsons in finding a Senior EHS Director to lead their large EHS team, in a crucial and highly visible role that reported directly into the CEO. This organization had experienced significant turnover in the position, with 3 different people holding the role in the last 5 years and was therefore seeking a candidate who could offer stability and reliability.
A detailed briefing call was arranged to understand the challenges of the facility and the position, as well as the opportunities for driving significant change to EHS culture and performance within a unique environment. An intricate profile emerged for the type of candidates we would need to identify during our search, including industry backgrounds, personality type, leadership style, and diversity requirements.
Within 3 weeks, a diverse “longlist” of 65+ EHS executives had been approached and screened for the position by our team. This resulted in a final “shortlist” of 10 candidates who all interviewed with our client for the position – resulting in the hiring team being very impressed by both the calibre as well as the diversity of candidates presented. After an in-depth, four-stage interview process, a hire was successfully made within 4 months of our initial briefing call.
