With hundreds of high-risk laboratories across the U.S., a global technology leader faced increasing electrical hazards as it expanded into new, high-voltage equipment testing.
Despite strong internal safety processes, the scale and diversity of the labs exposed gaps in standardised practices. The organisation required an independent, expert-led Electrical Safety Gap Assessment to identify risks, provide actionable best-practice recommendations, and build trust with lab personnel, many of whom were cautious due to past audit experiences.
Without addressing these challenges, the risks included safety incidents, reduced staff confidence, and potential disruption of critical operations.
The collaboration began when the organization’s Electrical Safety team attended Shirley Parsons Electrical Safety Webinar hosted by Principal Consultant Dave Haver and Global Director of Consulting Nick Farkas. A key question during the session sparked follow-up discussions with stakeholders, leading to the launch of a pilot project.
