An industry leading General Contractor is seeking a Senior Safety Manager to support national construction projects across one of their major business units. This role will drive operational safety excellence, strengthen risk management practices, and help project teams deliver successful outcomes. The position offers an opportunity to work on complex projects while helping strengthen a safety-first culture throughout the organization.
The ideal base for this role is Jacksonville, FL. However other locations will be explored: Houston, TX / Atlanta, GA / Arlington, VA / Charlotte, NC
The Role
- Champion and enhance the organization’s safety culture, ensuring best practices are embedded across projects and operations.
- Collaborate with project teams during planning and execution to identify potential risks, evaluate high-hazard work, and implement practical mitigation strategies.
- Review project performance data, safety metrics, and operational trends to provide leadership with actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Lead safety program implementation, inspections, incident reviews, corrective actions, and training initiatives while promoting accountability and learning.
- Develop and mentor safety professionals and project teams, while serving as a trusted advisor to clients, trade partners, and internal stakeholders.
The Candidate
- Minimum of 10 years of construction safety experience, including 5 years working in federal construction environments (required)
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction and EM385-1-1 training credentials (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- A strong communicator who can engage with both key internal and external stakeholder
- Based locally near Jacksonville, FL and able to travel to projects nationally as required
