A global manufacturing company is seeking an EHS Manager in the greater Bardstown, Kentucky area for its sole operation in North America. This person will be tasked with managing an on-site team for health, safety and environmental programs across a large manufacturing workforce while driving continuous improvement in safety performance and incident reduction. The Role

  • Lead all environmental, health, and safety initiatives for a 500+ employee manufacturing facility, with responsibility for maintaining compliance and improving overall EHS performance.
  • Drive reductions in recordable incidents and workplace injuries, with particular focus on forklift operations, crane safety, material handling, PPE compliance, and working-at-heights programs.
  • Manage and develop a small EHS team, providing leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction for site safety and environmental activities.
  • Oversee environmental programs including wastewater treatment, chemical waste management, and ISO 14001-related systems and processes.
  • Partner closely with plant leadership and operations teams to foster a proactive safety culture and implement practical, sustainable improvements.

The Candidate

  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing direct reports within an EHS function required.
  • Background in metals manufacturing, heavy industrial environments, automotive manufacturing, or similar production settings highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of safety programs involving forklifts, cranes, material handling, machinery, and general industrial risk management.
  • Experience with environmental compliance programs and ISO 14001 standards is highly preferred.
  • A level-headed, approachable leader who can adapt communication styles, work independently, and build credibility with both senior leadership and frontline teams.
