A leading industrial manufacturing organization is seeking an EHS Specialist for its facility in the Jackson, Mississippi area. This person will play a key role in strengthening workplace safety, environmental compliance, and operational excellence within a fast-paced production environment. The position offers the opportunity to lead impactful safety initiatives, drive continuous improvement efforts, and influence a strong safety culture across the site. The Role
  • Lead and support health, safety, and environmental programs while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, standards, and internal policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments, identify potential hazards, and implement preventive measures with a focus on reducing serious incidents.
  • Facilitate incident investigations, determine root causes, and drive corrective and preventive actions to improve site performance.
  • Perform audits, inspections, reporting, and data analysis to measure HSE effectiveness and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with operations and leadership teams to strengthen safety culture, provide coaching, and support facility growth and operational projects.
The Candidate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of health, safety, and environmental experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, compliance activities, and HSE performance monitoring.
  • Preferred qualifications include professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM, along with familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles.
