A growing industrial manufacturing organization is seeking an EHS Site Lead for its operation in West Springfield, MA area. This person will play a key role in ensuring environmental compliance while supporting the site’s broader safety and sustainability objectives. The position offers the opportunity to lead permitting, regulatory compliance, and environmental management programs within a complex manufacturing environment. It is an excellent fit for an emerging environmental professional who enjoys working cross-functionally and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

The Role
  • Lead environmental compliance programs, including air permitting, wastewater management, stormwater compliance, hazardous waste management, and regulatory reporting.
  • Manage compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including EPA and state agency requirements, with a strong focus on RCRA, wastewater discharge permits, SPCC plans, and stormwater programs.
  • Coordinate environmental inspections, audits, permit renewals, sampling activities, and interactions with regulatory agencies.
  • Analyze environmental performance data, identify compliance risks, and develop corrective actions and improvement initiatives to reduce environmental impact.
  • Support site EHS objectives through employee training, incident investigations, compliance assessments, and collaboration with operational leadership.
The Candidate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related technical discipline.
  • 2+ years of environmental compliance experience within a manufacturing, industrial, chemical, or processing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of environmental permitting, RCRA hazardous waste regulations, wastewater treatment and discharge requirements, stormwater management, SPCC programs, and environmental reporting.
  • Experience conducting environmental audits, managing regulatory inspections, and developing corrective action plans.
  • Strong communication and project management skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive compliance initiatives across the organization.
