A leading food manufacturing organization is seeking an EHS Manager to lead environmental, health, and safety initiatives at its production facility in Lowville, New York. This person will be responsible for driving a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing programs that protect employees, assets, and operations. The Role
- Lead and execute environmental, health, and safety strategies that support operational goals, compliance requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze EHS performance through key metrics, communicating results, priorities, and action plans to stakeholders across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, safety, transportation, and security regulations.
- Drive the implementation and sustainability of EHS management systems, training programs, risk mitigation plans, and emergency preparedness processes.
- Manage the site EHS budget, support workers’ compensation activities, and foster a proactive, zero-incident safety culture throughout the facility.
- Lead and mentor 2 EHS Coordinators.
The Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety leadership within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations, environmental compliance programs, and safety management systems; experience with PSM and risk management programs is a plus.
- Professional safety certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHCM, OSHA certifications, or related credentials are preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change, influence teams, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.
