A global industrial manufacturing organization is seeking an EHS Manager to support a production facility in Kennewick, Washington. This person will be tasked with leading environmental compliance, strengthening safety culture, and advancing sustainable operations across a unionized workforce. It’s a strong opportunity to own the EHS function end‑to‑end while influencing long‑term operational and environmental performance.
The Role
- Lead and maintain all environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance and protection of employees, contractors, and the surrounding community.
- Manage environmental permitting, reporting, and compliance activities (air, wastewater, hazardous waste, stormwater, SPCC, SARA), while monitoring and preparing for emerging regulations.
- Own ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems, including audits, document control, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive incident investigations, risk assessments, corrective actions, and EHS performance reporting to site and regional leadership.
- Promote a proactive, safety‑focused culture by leading training programs, employee engagement efforts, and the site safety committee.
The Candidate
- Experienced EHS professional with hands‑on responsibility for environmental compliance and industrial safety in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental permitting, ISO management systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven ability to lead audits, investigations, and training programs, and to influence across all levels of an organization, including in a union setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental, safety, or a related discipline; professional certifications such as CSP are strongly preferred.
