SP Data Centers supported hyperscale growth by overcoming extreme land, scale, and engineering complexity to deliver a 320+ MW Sydney data centre campus on tight timelines.
The project is the largest single data centre campus in APAC (outside China), with a capacity exceeding 320 MW. Built across seven stories, it required the integration of highly complex engineering systems, including: 216 emergency backup generators, 2592 lithium-ion battery cabinets (~730 tonnes), 172 hybrid dry-coolers and 86 water-cooled chillers, two substations and three underground water tanks.
Before the project, the client faced limited land options in Sydney capable of supporting such large-scale infrastructure. The development also had to meet tight timelines to satisfy growing hyperscale customer demand, while competition for skilled contractors and resources was intense due to multiple regional data centre projects occurring simultaneously.
Strategic planning and innovative engineering integration allowed the project to overcome land, scale, and timing challenges, securing its position as a regional leader in hyperscale infrastructure.
