Job Title: Interim HSEQ Manager - Chemical Company

Location: Limburg, Netherlands

Company Overview: Our client is a leading chemical company committed to excellence in safety, quality, and environmental practices. We are currently seeking an experienced Interim HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) Manager to join the team in Limburg for a contract duration of approximately 4 months. This position will oversee HSEQ operations with two direct reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.

Job Description:

As the Interim HSEQ Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality management within our facility in Limburg. You will lead a team of two direct reports, collaborating closely with cross-functional departments to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and best practices in the chemical industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HSEQ strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and manage a team of HSEQ professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure effective performance and achievement of objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international HSEQ regulations, standards, and certifications relevant to the chemical industry.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate health, safety, environmental, and quality risks associated with chemical manufacturing processes and operations.
  • Oversee the investigation and reporting of incidents, accidents, near misses, and environmental spills, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, inspections, and assessments to monitor compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and deliver HSEQ training programs for employees, contractors, and stakeholders, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.
  • Establish and maintain emergency response plans and procedures, conducting drills and exercises to ensure readiness for potential emergencies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across HSEQ processes and systems, leveraging data analysis and feedback to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external agencies, and community partners to promote HSEQ awareness, communication, and collaboration.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in HSEQ management within the chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of HSEQ regulations, standards, and best practices relevant to chemical operations.
  • Experience leading teams and managing direct reports in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Certification(s) in relevant HSEQ disciplines (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) is preferred.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English, both written and verbal.
