Shirley Parsons have partnered with a leading Education establishment that have an opening for a Health and Safety Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a wide range of departments and staff on Health and Safety practices, with a focus on sports and events. This position is based in Leeds and will suit candidates with an engaging approach and the ability to build rapport at all levels.

The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for:

  • Developing, implementing and managing the organisation's Health and Safety policies and procedures Creating and delivering a range of H&S training and inductions
  • Investigating and report on all incidents, accidents and near misses
  • Conducting a range of risk assessments across the premises and ensure these are appropriately reviewed
  • Working with the events and sporting teams to ensure safe working practices
  • Acting as a Consultant internally, providing Health and Safety advice and guidance


The Health and Safety Manager will have:

  • Experience in the education or events/hospitality/leisure sectors
  • NEBOSH/ NCRQ Diploma; ideally Grad or Chartered IOSH
  • Engaging, personable and a proven influencer
  • Confident communicator, both written and verbally
