A large global manufacturing company is seeking a Safety Specialist to join their EHS team overseeing multiple facilities in the Portland area, comprising 500 employees. Reporting into the EHS Manager, the Safety Specialist will be tasked with working collaboratively to foster a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with local and federal regulations.
The role:
- Influence plant, production, operations and site management to drive safety performance and results
- Work collaboratively within the EHS team to implement and maintain safety and environmental programs
- Develop and deliver training to ensure safe work practices
- Conduct incident investigations and regular audits/inspections
- Maintain and analyze safety metrics and KPIs, identifying areas for improvement
The candidate:
- B.S. degree in Occupational Safety or related field preferred
- 3-5 years of health and safety experience in an industrial manufacturing setting
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage others
