A research institution is seeking a Biosafety Officer to join the biosafety team, as well as develop new policies and procedures across BSL1,2, and 3 laboratories. The Biosafety Officer will be working as part of the broader EHS team and assist with the biological safety program as well as other specialty programs.

The role:

Working closely with the EHS staff to develop a strong and collaborative biosafety program
Developing and implementing biosafety training to researchers of all levels
Provide insight and management to special biosafety programs
Building strong relationships with researchers and PIs
Assist the biosafety program, including inspections and training for BSL 1,2, &3

The candidate:

3 years of lab experience
Bachelor's Degree in EHS, IH, lab safety, microbiology, molecular biology, biology or related discipline (Advanced Degree preferred)
Professional certification strongly preferred (Certified Biological Safety Professional, Registered Biosafety Professional)
Ability to communicate complex technical issues to diverse clients
Ability to build and maintain strong collaborative and professional relationships with EH&S staff, Principal Investigators, researchers and clients
