Review of Quality Management Systems in Construction

  • Publish Date: Posted over 3 years ago

Three Shirley Parsons associates have been invited by the BSI to be part of a review of how quality management systems are operated in the construction industry.

Jon Elliot, David Myers and Colin Harley will be part of the committee reviewing how the current ISO 9001:2015 standard is applied within the construction industry.

They will work to develop a new document to add additional sector specific requirements to the standard with the aim of improving how quality is perceived and managed in the industry.

Jon said “I am looking forward to using my knowledge and experience to help define how construction quality management will develop into the future. After a long and successful career in construction quality management, it is good to be able to put something back into the industry which will be of benefit to others.”

Jonny Montgomerie, Partner Quality for Shirley Parsons Project Services said “We are delighted that Jon, David and Colin have been invited to be part of this important review. It recognises their expertise in the field of construction quality management and it shows that we have a very strong team of experts advising our clients.”

The Get it Right initiative demonstrated that error is costing the construction Industry between £10–25Bn per annum across the sector. Shirley Parsons Project Services are actively supporting clients in reducing error and cost through the adoption of effective quality management systems.
