Description
A global food manufacturing organization is looking for an experienced Safety Manager to take ownership of the entire safety programs for a large manufacturing plant in order to ensure a safe and accident-free work environment. He/She will be responsible for leading and supporting the development and implementation of facility-wide health and safety programs and delivering training with the help of the onsite and corporate teams.
The Role:
Manage all aspects of health and safety programs and regulations at the plant;
Promote an accident-free work environment by developing programs that will train, monitor, and assure a safe workplace;
Assist in accident investigations and prepare accident reports required by regulatory agencies;
Conduct inspections and audits at the plant and at other nearby facilities to identify potential accident hazards and determine corrective or preventative measures accordingly.
The Candidate:
A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or a related degree is required
Relevant EHS certifications such as ASP or CSP are highly preferred;
7+ years of related experience, with demonstrated experience leading the health and safety function;
A consistent track record of driving the health and safety agenda for a safe workplace at a plant level with at least a few hundred employees;
In-depth knowledge of CalOSHA regulations, reporting, and record-keeping requirements;
Supervisory experience with successfully leading and managing direct reports preferred.
