Ensuring deliverables support our overall Sustainability Strategy and ambition, compliance to our HSE & QA Policy, our HSEQ-TS standards (minimum requirements) and securing accurate and reliable master data for our Sustainability reporting. 

You like facts as part of getting things right and probably have an interest in data as you will also hold responsibility to validate master data's accuracy in systems and ensure timely reporting and contribution to quarterly/annual reports for your area of responsibilities.

Job Specifics

As the Head of HSEQ Manufacturing you will be providing direction and leadership in all aspects of the Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality Assurance function for FLSmidth, Mining Operations & Manufacturing meaning you will also:

  • Define, develop, and lead the implementation of FLSmidth standards, policies, and practices to identify/mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace and external environments

  • Provide functional HSEQA support to all Manufacturing related business areas  i.e. safety, environmental, QA, audits, Hazard risk assessments, security, crisis management, product safety, functional safety, industrial hygiene programs, health and well-being programs, training & contractor management.

  • Ensure and be overall responsible for training and audits to ensure compliance with organization and government standards related to environmental and employee health and safety

  • Review tenders, ensuring HSEQA compliance to Client contract i.e. HSE workforce employment and cost covering, legal requirements, training, etc.  

  • Perform analysis of hazard risk, incident, near miss and safety observations ensuring accurate reporting, mitigated and actions are implemented.

  • Ensure investigations of accidents, environmental and quality incidents and liaising with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify causes and prevent their recurrence

  • Maintain local audit, emergency training, safety walk, inspection, controls, contractor/vendors review, visitor and staff to ensure compliance to procedure/standards

  • Promote a culture of personal and team HSEQ & Travel security, including others who may be affected by the company’s operational activities

  • Review suppliers' compliance, visitors access and train staff to ensure compliance to procedure/standards

To be successful in this role you thrive in dynamic settings with a global agenda and enjoy creating results with a team. You have a holistic view on problem solving, and ability to balance being service minded whilst setting clear priorities for the team and providing frequent overall status to your own leader to maintain a strong communication flow to proactively deal with opportunities and challenges.


You

  • 5+ years as HSEQ Manager and holding a technical background and a Diplomat leadership or similar

  • Experience with international standards as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or OHSAS 18001

  • Insight and understanding for local and international legislation

  • Lead auditor, or similar auditor experiences

  • Leadership experience, experience in building/developing teams and create followship

  • High level of communication skills (spoken, reports, presentations)

  • Process driven with result as mindset

  • Business organizational understanding

  • Availability for international travels approx. 100 days per year

  • Health certificate showing no heart vessel disease as to be allowed access to mining sites.

  • Fluent in both oral and written English.

  • Preferably holding experience from heavy manufacturing industries


Process:

We aim to do interviews during November and December. Anticipated start date as soon as possible but our client is comfortable waiting for the right person.
