We are partnering exclusively with a leading energy/oil and gas business and currently have an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Advisor to join their team based in Suffolk. The day-to-day responsibilities offer lot of variety, alongside the chance to drive a positive health and safety culture across the site and wider company. The ideal candidate will come from a high risk industry such as oil and gas, engineering, manufacturing, or energy, and have at least 3 years of experience in a similar health and safety position.

The Site Health and Safety Advisor will be responsible for:

  • Offering support across the site in order to maintain and develop a strong health and safety culture and compliance
  • Carrying out audits, inspections, and investigations across the site
  • Overseeing and support external contractors to ensure that they are trained and compliant against all relevant regulations on site
  • Supporting the senior leadership team, providing reports and advice on health and safety related matters
  • Creating and improve documentation such as policies, processes, and procedures
  • Delivering toolbox talks and other relevant health and safety training on site

The Site Health and Safety Advisor will have:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent as a minimum. NEBOSH Diploma or working towards would be preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working within health and safety, ideally in a high risk sector. COMAH/Process Safety experience would also be desired
  • An Engineering related degree or qualification would be beneficial
  • An enthusiastic approach with the ambition to grow and progress in their SHE career
