Shirley Parsons have exclusively partnered with a Consultancy specialising in Fire Safety, Construction and Asbestos Management services who have an opening for a Principal Fire and Construction Manager. The post holder will be responsible for advising clients on all manner of Fire and Building Safety and ensuring compliance with all legal requirements in relation to ongoing projects. This opportunity has a hybrid working arrangement and will suit candidates residing anywhere South of Birmingham, but preferably in or around London and the home counties, with the ability to commit to national travel and occasional nights away.

The Principal Fire and Construction Manager will be responsible for:

Fire Risk Assessments on complex and non-complex premises, including but not limited to, residential blocks and care homes, Type 1 to Type 4 depending on client requirements.
Completing compartmentation and fire door surveys, and Fire engineering design and scoping remedial works from assessments that have been carried out.
Providing Technical support to in-house team and contractors, as well as retained support for clients.
Project management, to include contractor administration and management, final QA sign off and client liaison.

The ideal Principal Fire and Construction Manager requires:

Extensive experience in Fire and Building Safety and a full understanding of the new Fire Safety Regulations 2022.
Preferably holding a qualification in Fire Engineering and Building Surveying and a membership with the IFSM or IFE, or similar accredited organisations.
Ability to confidently complete Fire Risk Assessments, and Compartmentation and fire door surveys, utilising a holistic approach to the building.
Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with a personable nature.
