Shirley Parsons have partnered with a leading food retail organisation who are looking to appoint a Group Risk and Assurance Manager to support regionally across the Southeast and Southwest of England. The main purpose of the role is to lead a team to ensure legislative compliance, best practice, and continuous improvement. This is a field-based role with two days a week based in the Portsmouth office.

The Group Risk and Assurance Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading on the implementation and delivery of a robust risk management programme, working at a strategic level to deliver in line with business processes
  • Working at board level to develop and deliver the company health and safety management strategy
  • Managing a small team to deliver on all aspects of Compliance and regulation for the business and drive performance in line with business objectives
  • Manage budgets across appropriate business areas


The Group Risk and Assurance Manager will have:

  • Experience at a Strategic level in a Health and Safety and Risk position working in a relatable sector such as Retail
  • Experience managing a team
  • Level 6 Diploma in Health and Safety such as NEBOSH/NCRQ (Certificate level will be considered with relevant experience)
  • Chartered member of IOSH would be preferable
  • Food safety management experience is desirable
