Description
A global heavy manufacturing company is looking to appoint an EHS Director to lead the EHS program at a site in Los Angeles. Managing a small team of safety professionals, the EHS Director will work closely with senior leadership in order to establish and maintain safety a safety culture. The incumbent will be tasked with overseeing organizational compliance with local, state and federal EH&S regulations and will be tasked with fostering a healthy safety culture, requiring the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at various levels of the business.
The Role:
- Developing, strategizing and implementing a long-term plan for the EHS function
- Driving a culture of safety across the business to reduce injuries and accidents
- Promoting continuous improvement efforts in the EHS function, integrating tactical and strategic EHS planning
- Interact with regulatory agencies to maintain compliance with company and government standards
- Develop the EHS team
The Candidate:
- Bachelor’s Degree in EHS, IH, Chemical Engineering or a related technical field preferred
- 5+ years’ EHS experience within an industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage a complex environmental program
- CSP, CIH, CHMM (or similar) preferred
