Latest Careers Trends Within Construction HSE

  • Publish Date: Posted cirka 2 måneder ago

This week sees both Construction Safety Week in the USA/Canada and UK Construction Week in London. Two great reasons to focus on Health & Safety career opportunities in the global construction and built environment sectors.

There is currently a high demand for HSEQ skills within the construction industry. Due to the pandemic postponing and delaying numerous projects across the UK. Companies have struggled to keep up with the demand.

Our managing careers consultant, Phil Muston, gives his insight on the market:

“Many projects were on hold during the pandemic or had their start dates delayed but are now back underway. We also see a lot of new projects starting with very tight timeframes, and all are seeking strong HSEQ talent.

This demand is driving up the average salary within construction, not only for new opportunities but also to retain talent. Salary increases are becoming very common due to the demand in the marketing and the challenge of replacing skilled talent.”

31.1% of the respondents in our HSEQ Salary and Workforce Insights 2022 reported that they are actively employed within the Construction sector. The average salary for a Construction HSE Advisor is £41K per year, and Directors in Construction HSE earn an average of £129K. The construction sector has a higher average salary than the overall average in HSEQ and is forecasted to rise even further in 2022. Download the full copy of our insight survey here.
