About Shona

I’m Shona. I am Director of Talent within Shirley Parsons and am responsible for our HSEQ talent tool RoTI (Return on Talent Investment). I love working with people and get great satisfaction in playing a part in someone’s career journey. I started working with Shirley in 2003, straight out of university. I had no recruitment experience, but having just completed a degree in IT, I knew that I didn’t want that to be my career of choice and wanted to work with people, recruitment seemed to fit that ambition. I have been lucky enough to progress my career within the same business and have seen the business evolve and grow in that time. We have come a long way since we were in a small office in Aylesbury. I have been involved in numerous projects over the years including attracting talent into the sector, managing our own internal recruitment and training, hosting webinars, organising events and most recently in the development of our unique talent tool.


As well as achieving my career ambitions, I am also a Mum to two boys. I consider myself lucky to be able to balance my career with also being a Mum and although sometimes this is challenging, Shirley Parsons have always supported me in this. I am a social being and enjoy socialising, especially if it involves red wine! I enjoy spending time with my children, (unless we are in a lockdown, not so keen on the home schooling) and wider family.

EHS Manager

$100k - 115k per year + 8% bonus & relo. asst.


A global industrial manufacturer is currently seeking an EHS Manager to lead all EHS functions at its facility in the Spartanburg, SC area.  The EHS Manager will be working directly with plant leadership to ensure the well-being of all employees at the manufacturing facility and will be responsible for updating and maintaining the site's EHS systems, programs, and culture.  The successful candidate will be expected serve as a communication link between management and employees by keeping all personnel informed of EHS related matters. The Role: Influences Plant, Production, Operations, Maintenance and site management to drive the EHS performance and results.Supports company interface with regulatory authorities for regulatory visits, requests and submissions for the region.Monitors changes to all EHS regulations pertaining to their area and reviews recommendations for incorporation into EHS management systems and standards in a timely manner.Accountable for managing site EHS documentation to include program design, EHS data collection and posting, training documentation, and EHS KPI reports.Participates as a leader for audits and assigns EHS resources to audits in their area. The Candidate: 5+ years in EHS roles within a manufacturing setting.Strong knowledge of Machine Guarding & LOTO programs.Familiarity with SPCCC & Title V programs and permitting preferred.Experience with leading new facilities preferred.Leadership experience.Bachelor’s Degree in EHS, IH, Safety Sciences or related fields.Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage others.

Real Estate and Environmental Services Manager

A global industrial manufacturing company is seeking a Real Estate and Environmental Services Manager to provide expertise and support to the business in the areas of air, water, waste, and land management. This includes ensuring the implementation and on-going improvement of environmental performance within the business, consistent with the corporate priorities and policies as well as compliance to relevant regulation. This position provides functional and technical support for effective management of land and leasehold assets and environmental training and program expertise.
