Head of UK Careers

About Phillip

I’m Phil, Head of UK Careers here at Shirley Parsons. I hold a variety of responsibilities to encourage others and develop markets, as well as partnering with external clients of all sizes within the Infrastructure sector to find top talent for their SHEQ teams. I joined the business over 10 years ago and have always sat within the talent search team, working my way up from a Junior Recruiter to where I am now. I have a number of achievements which I’m very proud of since being with Shirley Parsons, including the successful launch of sector specific webinars, developing partnerships with universities, and gaining a distinction in the NCRQ Level 6 Certificate in Applied Health and Safety.

Whilst I know I don’t look old enough, I held a few positions beforehand within retail and supply chain. Anyone will tell you that I LOVE to talk, so I think this career suits me a lot better than the confines of shop floors and warehousing!

I’m a family man who can often be found spending time with my 4 children and fiancé – fingers crossed 2022 is the year where a pandemic doesn’t get in the way of our wedding!

I’m a huge sports fan and love watching live sport as and when I can, in particular football and NFL. I also enjoy a beer or two, so the two passions go hand-in-hand quite nicely.

People often tell me that I’d make a great game show host, which makes sense because it is a dream of mine to spin the wheel of fortune or banter with The Chasers. Keep your eyes peeled, I’m sure you’ll see me on TV one day!
