Shirley Parsons Win Gold CSR Award

  • Publish Date: Posted almost 2 years ago

Shirley Parsons has won the Gold Award in the Bucks and MK SME Awards. The award recognises and celebrates our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, as well as the dedication of our UK team to a wide range of initiatives. We'll now advance to the national round later this year.

At Shirley Parsons, we believe in living with purpose and providing a better future. Our corporate responsibility goes much further beyond making great talent matches and enabling client success. Our commitment to doing things ethically, 'in the right way', has always been a fundamental part of the Shirley Parsons ethos.

As testimony to our approach, in 2020, we were pleased to be awarded the Bronze level accreditation by CSR Accreditation, followed quickly by the Silver award in 2021. Shirley Parsons was the first company to receive re-accreditation, demonstrating our desire to improve continually. These Awards highlight how the business has effectively integrated our social, environmental, ethical, human rights and consumer concerns into our business strategy and operations. It is a badge we wear with great pride.

Most recently, we've organised local litter picks and fundraised for the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal through our 'Aylesbury to Ukraine' appeal – cycling, running and walking the 1456-mile distance – raising over our target of £1000. Day to day in the office, we're firm believers in 'reduce/reuse/recycle', with Shirley championing this throughout the organisation and with our office neighbours and suppliers.

We're an official Champion for Transitions UK, a charity supporting vulnerable young people struggling with personal disadvantages. As part of this partnership and ongoing fundraising, we're involved in regular CV and interview clinics, using our skills to make a difference and help young people secure employment. Our employees also enjoy utilising their paid volunteering days to participate in sporting activities such as races and even marathons to fundraise for various charities and other community groups, including Pride in London, the local food bank and WheelPower.

Winning the SME Business Award in Corporate Social Responsibility for the Bucks and Milton Keynes region is something we're proud to celebrate. The win not only adds meaning for everyone who works at Shirley Parsons but motivates us to do more and demonstrates our commitment to our customer base.
