A story from one of our Recruitment Consultants who has recently moved from our UK HQ to our Australia office.

"My journey into recruitment has certainly been an interesting one. I left school at 18 after completing my A-Levels and headed to University to study Psychology. I, like many people, didn’t really know what I wanted to do with my career after studying. I knew I liked working with people, had a real drive for success and wanted to make an impact in my career.

I started working in contract recruitment through a friend’s recommendation and found my love for it. High-performance cultures, challenging days and making a positive impact on people’s lives is what really drove me, so it was perfect.

After moving cities, I arrived at Shirley Parsons and felt I had found my people. The culture, the opportunity, and the investment they put into their people was the sticking point for me. Whilst there, I had the opportunity to attend and host networking events, I was put on a Future Leaders course and so much more.

Fast forward a year of grind and determination, I am now a founding member of our new Australia & New Zealand branch, a career move I hadn’t even imagined would be possible when I ended my studies. So, my advice to those thinking about their future is to take every opportunity that is available to you. At Shirley Parsons there is a world of opportunity, you just have to go for it. Follow your gut, put in the work and you’ll get to where you were meant to be." - Hannah Martinez, Recruitment Consultant at Shirley Parsons.
