From a standing start in 2005 Shirley Parsons Associates has grown substantially, starting 2010 with 18 employees.  Today the company has four business divisions, each specialising in different sectors needing Health and Safety talents.  At the same time the scope of capabilities has also grown. As well as being able to source scarce talent for Health and Safety jobs, the company now helps to source talented professionals skilled in related areas such as Occupational Health, Quality, Risk and the Environment.  The depth of talent coverage has also grown and the company now sources every level of specialist talent  possible to fill Health and Safety jobs from fresh Graduate to Director level.

Shirley Parsons
Co-founder and Managing Director

Shirley ParsonsShirley's career spans 30+ years in Health, Safety, Environmental and Recruitment disciplines. Shirley is CMIOSH and has been a member of IOSH since 1994.

A 1st in Chemistry at Sheffield was followed by an MSc in Pollution and Environmental Control at Manchester and then a spell in Local Government at The London Borough of Hillingdon. On leaving Hillingdon Shirley co-founded 2 companies, Sypol a leading Health, Safety and Environmental Consultancy and S-Com a leading technical recruitment company.  Having sold both businesses in the late 90s, Shirley was involved in several ventures as an investor and consultant, before forming Shirley Parsons Associates in 2005.

As well as leading the business, Shirley personally oversees all Executive Talent sourcing and headhunting campaigns.

Gerry Pearson
Divisional Business Manager

Gerry PearsonGerry graduated in 2003 with a 2:1 in Business Studies with e-Commerce. He worked with Shirley from 2004 before moving with her to set up Shirley Parsons Associates later on in 2005. Gerry has developed his career successfully in the talent industry progressing from Recruiter through to Consultant and Team Leader and now on to Divisional Manager. His team specialises in the Energy, Manufacturing, Construction, Infrastructure and Overseas Business sectors.  Gerry also runs Shirley Parsons Construction, a new division established to service a broader set of talent needs for the built environment.

Shona Turner
Divisional Business Manager

Shona Turner Shona graduated from Bournemouth University in 2002 with an Honours Degree in Business Information Systems Management. She has been in recruitment for the whole of her career. Shona worked with Shirley from 2003-2005 and joined her at Shirley Parsons Associates in 2006. She has grown her entire team from scratch since joining Shirley and enjoys balancing both a management and sales role. Shona specialises in the Consultancy, Retail, Occupational Health,   Government and Scientific sectors. She enjoys working in partnership with her clients, offering flexible talent solutions and aiding clients in growing successful Health and Safety teams.  Shona is currently on maternity leave having given birth to her new baby boy on 11th December 2009.  Kerrie is covering in Shona's absence.

Kerrie Brindle
Divisional Business Manager

Kerrie BrindleKerrie has worked with Shirley since 2001 gaining her MBA in 2005. Originally taking operational responsibility, Kerrie moved into a sales role following maternity leave in 2006. Kerrie heads the Interim and Contracts Division and recently  she also took responsibility for Shona's team whilst Shona is on Maternity leave.

Kerrie personally specialises in Facilities Management, Property Management & Leisure & Tourism with the team covering consultancy, local government, retail, charities and support services. Kerrie has built strong relationships with her clients and has managed projects supplying talent to deliver associate training & consultancy to some of our biggest clients.

Paul Roebuck
Co-founder and Commercial Director

Paul Roebuck Paul has over 30 years business experience in the ICT and HSEQ sectors. A Computer Systems Engineering graduate, he co-founded S-Com and Sypol with Shirley in the late 70s. After selling both businesses in the late 90s he became an investor in several technology and recruitment businesses, before teaming up with Shirley again in 2005. Paul runs the Identify Group which has several specialist niche recruitment brands in its portfolio.  In addition Paul oversees the centralised support services including the Finance, Business Support and Agency Development functions.
