Description

We are recruiting for an experienced H&S Manager who has extensive tunnelling experience, to work for a civil engineering contractor in London. Candidates must also have working knowledge of tunnel boring machines and use of heavy plant equipment for these processes.

Duties:-

-  Continuous improvement of the safety performance on the project.

-  Promote health and safety legislation and best practices within the company.

-  Develop, review and update the safety management system.

-  Provide advice and support to all project personnel to enable them to manage the development of Safety Advisors.

-  Represent and promote safety department in meetings, workshops, management reviews and forums.

-  Develop and deliver suitable safety training programme for all staff.

Candidates should have corporate membership to IOSH, construction experience and particularly CDM 2007 knowledge. They will be trained to NEBOSH Diploma level or equivalent, including behavioural safety techniques. Ideally hold an Environmental Management certificate (NVQ or equivalent). Candidates without tunnelling experience will not be suitable and therefore will be rejected in the early stages of the application process.
