Description
This developer of prestigious properties is seeking to appoint a H&S Manager with a background in another commercial, technical or production construction discipline. The position will have responsibility for all Health and Safety matters for project and company-wide matters and will take instructions from the Construction Director and report to the MD. Responsibilities include;

CDM Co-ordinator in relation to Client function for projects including developing and maintaining standardized Health and Safety Plan

Health and Safety Inspector - periodic inspections and written reports direct to CD and MD;

Informal advice and support for site managers as well as support to site managers in writing risk assessments and method statements and the development of company standard documentation;

Scaffolding inspector - must have Scaffold Inspection Certificate

Support to in-house architectural and interior designers and assistance in production of designers risk assessments including development of standard documents;

Development of company-wide Health and Safety Policy documents.
Candidates will be from a construction background with site experience and a detailed knowledge of construction and related health and safety matters. You should also be able to undertake other construction related management duties (for example stand in for the site manager or programmer) to provide flexibility to the team. You should be a self starter and be capable of instigating and maintaining office and site wide procedures. You should be a good communicator and capable of producing documentation of high standard. Knowledge of high-end residential would be an advantage but is not essential.
