Description

Our client, a support services company, is looking for a Senior HSE Advisor to be based in the York area, reporting to the Head of HSE. Based primarily on one site, the role is responsible for:-

- Providing an advisory service on the strategy, implementation and maintenance of safety and environmental management systems, procedures and auditing.

-  Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 is essential.  

-  Liaise with external bodies such as the HSE

-  Carry out inspections and provide reports and feedback to the Head of HSE

-  Identify training requirements in the areas of HSE

-  Investigate accidents and dangerous occurrences and their causes, making suitable recommendations.

-  Producing monthly reports for management reviews of accident and injuries.

Qualification and experience required:-

-  Suitable candidates will have a Diploma in Health, Safety and Environment or equivalent.

-  Hold a NEBOSH general certificate.

-  Be a member of IOSH.

-  Experience of Environmental management systems

-  Experience in an engineering environment

Candidates will have an advantage if they have a background in the defence sector. The client needs someone who can demonstrate they have knowledge in practical engineering solutions within HSE issues.
