About Jessica

​Hi! My name's Jess and I'm a Principal Careers Consultant overseeing the Quality Division covering a wide range of sectors such as Construction, Civil Engineering, Manufacturing, Services, and many more.

I've worked for Shirley Parsons since 2018 and over this time I've gained my QMS ISO9001:2015 Foundation course, attended CQI events and been involved in CQI articles. Additionally, I've created and lead a Quality forum throughout the pandemic and I'm keen to continue growing my career within the Quality space.

A  leading construction engineering and maintenance contractor is looking to add a Regional Safety Manager, to their team in the Bellflower, CA area. This is a newly created position, where you will lead a small team and be responsible for the development and continuous improvement of the company’s safety culture and program. This represents a fantastic opportunity to join a growing company, with a commitment to safety and who will offer continuous development opportunities. The Role: Promote a proactive safety culture at all levels of the organization, with heavy focus on employee engagement towards the safety programHighlight successes and focus areas to senior leadership, in order to continually develop the company safety program Lead a team of EHS professionals throughout the region Undertake job-site inspections, hazard observations, near miss investigations and audits across all operational projects as deemed necessaryIdentify, develop and deliver safety training in areas such as: safety regulation, hazardous conditions, use of tools and equipment etc. Ensure company continually remains compliant and informed of industry regulatory changes when it comes to bodies such as Cal/OSHA  The Candidate: 7-10 years safety leadership experience in an industrial construction environmentA proven leader, with strong communication skills who can engage with internal & external stakeholders alikeBachelors Degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering or other related discipline (preferred)Experience dealing with regulatory bodies e.g. Cal/OSHA Able to travel as the role requires (circa. 25%)

The selected candidate will spearhead the company's net-zero strategy, bolstered by science-based targets, and further elevate sustainability issues by championing tailored improvement initiatives.In this pivotal role, you will: Take ownership of the sustainability strategy, fostering an organizational culture that consistently pursues enhanced sustainability performance through behavioural shifts and pioneering thought leadership.Generate comprehensive reports on the company's sustainability performance, ensuring data alignment and compliance with the reporting requirements of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and United Nations Global Compact (UNGC).Coordinate the execution of the emissions reduction plan in alignment with the company's long-term science-based targets and net-zero aspirations.Utilize your engaging personality traits to influence key internal stakeholders effectively.Continuously assess performance against internal and external benchmarks to ensure adherence to mandatory and voluntary standards and regulations.
